Ruby is an affectionate, loving girl who truly thrives on human companionship. She dreams of a home where she's not just a pet, but a cherished member of the family.
Ruby is smart and eager to please, especially when treats are involved! She already knows how to sit on cue and is learning to master the "down" position with a little encouragement. Her playful nature shines through when she's running around with her favorite soft toys - and while she's still perfecting the art of fetch, she's making great progress. Her love for toys and treats makes training fun and rewarding!

Ruby's new family should keep a few things in mind to help her thrive:

- She's a talented jumper and has cleared 4-5 ft fences before, so secure 6 ft fencing is a must. Because of this, we recommend ensuring Ruby is left indoors when home alone.
- She can be a little unsure with close handling at times, so patience, gentle care, and positive reinforcement will help her build trust.

Ruby is best suited to a single-dog home. She's had some challenges with reactivity and resource guarding around other dogs, so being the only dog will set her up for success. While she can meet social dogs on walks and may enjoy play once comfortable, ongoing training to manage her arousal and reactivity will be important.
Ruby would do best in a calm home with older children who understand her body language and needs. Her ideal family will be committed to helping her feel secure and loved through kindness and consistency.
We recommend all household members meet Ruby at the time of adoption to ensure a perfect match.
